On Campus Event at Elc
For my on-campus event, I decided to go to the closing reception in the elcm of Zach Shaffer's The Fountain. This was a Talk that was discussing the cross-over of entrepreneurship and art. I think that it was a really interesting subject that should have been mentioned before and I'm surprised it hasn't been. The most interesting part to me was the merging of departments. Personally, interesting I know when I come into contact with someone that is outside of the art department it seems that they have a completely different experience than I do. The most interesting part was the way they met. from what I remember it was though the help of a professor, and next thing you know this major collab was created and they worked together so well an interesting point that was discussed was the marketing of zachs work. All artists would like to believe that they could just create work that would make them happy and they could sell all of it and live completely off that as an income. But most of the time that is not true. Rae was working on ways that Zach could sell his work for a profit that would make it so he could eventually turn it into a career.
