Week 7

Coding: This week we received two more exercises that would help further our coding knowledge. The first exercise was just a reading assignment to help learn about different type classifications. I actually did learn a lot from the reading, I never realized how many different font classes there were. The other exercise was all about google fonts, and I like google fonts so much more than I like font squirrel.  I feel like font squirrel was too complicated and Google fonts get right to the point.

Typeface: This week I was beginning to go through different ideas for the final typeface. I keep going back to beef jerky and I can not think of anything else that would suit my typeface so well so my proposal is as follows.

1. Jerky

2. Making a company that focuses on showcasing some of the best beef jerky recipes and also allowing people to showcase some of their original creations and be ranked according to the scale of jerky. This will not only be about beef jerky I'm talking chicken, pork, gator and so much more I just want this to be a southern jerky website, showcasing some of the best. I feel like the font will be a perfect fit for the southern roots of beef jerky.

3. A website
4. Sublime, illustrator, and photoshop

Week 6

Fontographer: This week the Fontographer work progressed on. I was now able to figure out how to scale down my lowercase letters to make them different heights. So I spent a whole hour and a half scaling them down got down to the letter "z" and the program quit on me so now I still have to go back and finish scaling, but at least now I know how to do it. After that is completed I will be able to turn in the completed copy of my typeface.

Font placement exercise: This week we also did a class long exercise to move. Which I Now realize was supposed to go in the drive and not only on the blog. But they were completed but oh well I guess. I actually really liked rearranging the font to fit into different sizes.
